Healthcare

Healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege. Yet too many families in our district struggle with rising costs, limited access, and inequities that leave people without the care they need. As your representative, I will fight to ensure that every person can access affordable, high‑quality healthcare by working to reduce the price of prescription drugs, expand access to affordable insurance options, and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for price gouging.

We must defend against efforts to dismantle the ACA and instead build on it to expand coverage, close gaps, and ensure protections for people with pre‑existing conditions. I will also support policies that expand Medicaid eligibility and funding for community health centers, ensuring that underserved communities have access to primary care, mental health services, and preventive care.

I’ll prioritize mental health and addiction services by funding community clinics, integrating care into schools and workplaces, and ending the criminalization of mental illness. I’ll also invest in preventive care, maternal health, and culturally competent services—because healing starts with access, and access starts with policy.

Healthcare should never be a source of financial ruin or fear. By expanding access, lowering costs, and addressing inequities, we can build a system that truly serves families, strengthens communities, and reflects our values of dignity and fairness.
