Democracy only works when every voice is heard and every vote counts. I’ll fight to protect voting rights, beginning with my support for the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and opposition to voter suppression legislation disguised as election security. I’ll push to end gerrymandering federally and shield election workers from intimidation. I’ll restore congressional oversight, defend judicial independence, and investigate abuses of power. 

Combating waste, fraud, and corruption was part of my life’s work in the FBI, and it will remain a high priority for me in Congress. This work begins by restoring inspector generals to positions that Donald Trump dismantled to shield him and his allies from accountability for fraud and misconduct. To rebuild civic trust, I’ll support media literacy, civic education, and community engagement that bridges divides.

As a former hostage negotiator, I’ve seen how manipulation undermines institutions—and I know how to push back.
