Social Media Responsibility

Our children are growing up in an online world that too often prioritizes profit over their wellbeing. Social media platforms are exploiting vulnerable kids, fueling anxiety, body image issues, bullying, and addictive behavior through practices designed to maximize engagement, not safety and health. As a parent and public safety advocate, I believe we need urgent federal action to hold tech companies accountable and protect children from digital harm.

I’ll fight for legislation that enforces transparency in algorithm design, bans exploitative data collection on minors, and requires platforms to implement meaningful safeguards against harassment and harmful content. I’ll also support digital literacy education in schools and mental health resources for families navigating the impact of online life. Technology should empower, not endanger, our kids, and it’s time Congress stepped in to make that a reality.
